Mission: SABA's mission is to encourage excellence in academic preparation and professional development for students of South Asian descent, as well as others who are interested in career opportunities in the region. We want to cultivate our presence as members of the Georgetown community and enrich the academic and professional environment at the McDonough School of Business. The South Asian Business Alliance (SABA) represents the voice of South Asian students at the McDonough School of Business and provides a sense of community for South Asian students. We provide social and professional networking opportunities to meet other Georgetown South Asian students and networking opportunities with South Asian business leaders and local South Asian professional and social organizations.
Purpose:
Georgetown has a substantial South Asian community and as the leaders of the South Asian Business Alliance, we aim to increase collaboration among all of the members. SABA has the following primary objectives:
- Provide more networking opportunities with other South Asian business leaders. This includes more speaker series events and company visits. Leverage the South Asian community in DC as well as SABA alumni to create more networking opportunities
- Host more social and cultural events including potlucks, Bhangra parties, and movie nights
- Focus on community service and outreach. We would like to host at least one fundraising event per semester to support a South Asian NGO or development organization.
